Floor 7: The Fairytale Maze
Overview
Floor 7 is a fairytale-inspired maze. The mechanic: paths close after 10 crawlers pass through them. One-way progression. No backtracking. 38,000 crawlers remain at the start. It's designed to separate groups, force difficult routing decisions, and prevent anyone from following the strongest crawlers to safety.
That was the plan.
What actually happened
Prepotente broke the entire floor. Using information from Floor 6's clues and several benefactor items, he destroyed the floor within minutes of arrival. Every crawler was sent instantly through the exit stairs. They skipped the whole thing.
The series doesn't always explain how Prepotente does what he does. It trusts you to accept the goat as a chaotic variable. His mother, he says, would have been quite proud. She would have called him her very smart boy.
This is the moment Prepotente goes from comic relief to fan favorite.
Why this floor matters
Even though it's skipped, Floor 7 is one of the most discussed moments in Book 6. Prepotente's solution is audacious, clever, and deeply satisfying. It demonstrates that the dungeon can be beaten through intelligence, not just combat. The achievement Carl gets for this is equally memorable.
