Corrections

Why this page exists

This site is written by people who love these books and who still get things wrong. When a reader catches an error, the report goes here, along with what was actually true and what changed on the page.

Nothing is quietly deleted. Corrections we have not settled yet are listed as open, because "we do not know yet" is a more useful answer than a confident wrong one.

7 corrections from readers. 7 fixed.

Fixed

Steve H. /characters/hekla/

Hekla is mentioned in book two, when Carl & donut first meet her on a talk show & she asks them to ding & take care of Katia for her. They later meet up in person in book three.

Correct. Her page said Book 3; she is introduced in Book 2 on the talk show, and the handover of Katia happens there. First appearance corrected 2026-09-06.

Steve H. /characters/lucia/

Lucia Mar’s character page is grossly missing her antagonistic role in the first four books.

Correct, and worse than reported: her page said she first appears in Book 5 and called her a party member. She arrives in Book 1 as a rival. Corrected 2026-09-06.

Socko /characters/mordecai/

"Mordecai is a kua-tin" Isn't he a Skyfowl that took the Changeling race during his crawl?

Correct, and it took us far too long. Fixed 2026-09-06.

Jenn /characters/mordecai/

Mordecai was born a Centurion skyfowl, not a kua-tin.

Correct. Fixed 2026-09-06.

Linda /characters/mordecai/

Mordacai is not a Kua-tin. He's a skyfowl. No one who's read the books would make that mistake.

Fair. Fixed 2026-09-06.

Steve H. /characters/mordecai/

Mordecai Is not a kua-tin as you state on his character page. He was a Skyfowl. It’s mentioned at least once in book three, and book four.

Correct. Fixed 2026-09-06.

Steve H. /floors/floor-4/

In your recap of book 1, you state: “Carl tracks missing crawlers to the town mayor, who's been harvesting magical energy for a dark ritual. Carl kills the mayor and grabs an unstable soul crystal right before it detonates, storing it in his inventory. This soul crystal is a ticking bomb. Remember it. It becomes a plot point.” This is not accurate as none of this take place in book one. These event happen in Book 2. And in your recap of book two, you again say that Carl had found the soul crystal in book 1.

Correct. That whole sequence is Miss Quill on floor 3, in Book 2. Book 1 covers floors 1-2 and ends on the stairs down. The passage is gone from the Book 1 recap, and the Book 2 recap no longer refers back to a Book 1 soul crystal. Fixed 2026-09-06.

How this works now

Every correction goes to a person, not a queue. The form asks what kind of message you are sending, so a factual report never gets lost among the fan mail.

Once a fact is fixed it is pinned by a build check, so the site cannot quietly regress to the old version. If we cannot settle something from the books, it stays on this page as open rather than getting a confident answer we made up.

Found something else?

Every character, floor and theory page has a form at the bottom. Pick "We got something wrong" and tell us the book or chapter if you have it. You will end up on this page.
