Hekla is mentioned in book two, when Carl & donut first meet her on a talk show & she asks them to ding & take care of Katia for her. They later meet up in person in book three.

Correct. Her page said Book 3; she is introduced in Book 2 on the talk show, and the handover of Katia happens there. First appearance corrected 2026-09-06.

Lucia Mar’s character page is grossly missing her antagonistic role in the first four books.

Correct, and worse than reported: her page said she first appears in Book 5 and called her a party member. She arrives in Book 1 as a rival. Corrected 2026-09-06.

In your recap of book 1, you state: “Carl tracks missing crawlers to the town mayor, who's been harvesting magical energy for a dark ritual. Carl kills the mayor and grabs an unstable soul crystal right before it detonates, storing it in his inventory. This soul crystal is a ticking bomb. Remember it. It becomes a plot point.” This is not accurate as none of this take place in book one. These event happen in Book 2. And in your recap of book two, you again say that Carl had found the soul crystal in book 1.

Correct. That whole sequence is Miss Quill on floor 3, in Book 2. Book 1 covers floors 1-2 and ends on the stairs down. The passage is gone from the Book 1 recap, and the Book 2 recap no longer refers back to a Book 1 soul crystal. Fixed 2026-09-06.

Six pages (the glossary, the character FAQ, the main FAQ, What Is DCC, Where Was I, and the Book 1 recap) described Carl's Coast Guard job wrongly. Carl's own page had it right.

Book 1 says he served aboard a cutter as an MK, a technician, then worked as a marine tech fixing electrical systems on party boats. All six pages now say that, and we now check every page so the old wording cannot come back.

Seven of the eight book pages listed the wrong page count, the series total was added up from those wrong numbers, and several pages called A Parade of Horribles the longest book when Book 7 is longer.

Every count now comes from the publisher's page for the Ace hardcover, the edition we link: 464, 384, 544, 608, 720, 832, 880 and 704 pages, 5,136 in total. This Inevitable Ruin (Book 7) is the longest. Every page count on the site is now checked against that list.

On October 4 we changed the first-release dates for Books 1, 2 and 7 to match their original Kindle listings on Amazon. That was a mistake: Matt Dinniman's own site gives earlier dates, and his site is the better source.

The dates are back to his: September 21, 2020, January 2, 2021 and November 3, 2024. Book pages say "first released" so the date is not confused with the 2024 to 2026 Ace hardcovers.

The What Is DCC page showed three short fan quotes we could not trace to any real reader, and pages across the site stated what "most fans" or "most readers" think, including the age guidance, when nobody measured that.

The quotes are gone. In their place are three blurbs, credited by name, from the jacket of the Penguin hardcover of Book 1. The "most fans" lines now say what they always were: our own opinion, labelled as ours.

The Floor 4 page and the Book 3 page quoted a note from Matt Dinniman at the start of Book 3. The wording we showed is not in the book.

The page now describes his real note, which promises a map near the end of the book, checked against the Penguin hardcover. We also added a spoiler-safe diagram of the Iron Tangle, with page numbers for every fact on it.

The Book 8 recap launched checked only against the community wiki, Wikipedia and reviews, not against the book. One closing line about Patreon readers had no source at all, and two lines simplified what happens.

We searched the hardcover's text for every event and added page numbers. The Patreon line is gone, two lines now say what the book says, and the one detail we could not find in the searchable text is named on the page.
