First appearance: Book 2 - Carl's Doomsday Scenario · Class: Swashbuckler · Race: Tigran
Who is Daniel Bautista?
Daniel Bautista is a crawler in Dungeon Crawler Carl, first appearing on Floor 3 in Book 2 (Carl's Doomsday Scenario). He chooses the Tigran race during Floor 3 class selection — a human/big cat hybrid with the orange, white, and black markings of a Siberian tiger and an absurdly long, shaggy tail.
His class is Swashbuckler, which grants bonuses when working alongside other members of the same class and includes access to the Tame spell. Bautista uses Tame on his extensive collection of beanie babies — he enters the dungeon with around a thousand of them — turning them into a functional pet army of uncooperative but surprisingly effective combatants.
Class and role
- Race: Tigran — Siberian-tiger-patterned human-cat hybrid with a long tail.
- Class: Swashbuckler — party synergy class with access to the Tame spell and mobility-focused combat style.
- Pets: ~1,000 tamed beanie babies. Functionally: a swarm. Tactically: better than it sounds.
- Temperament: Big, loud, and perpetually cheerful in a way that doesn't match his circumstances.
Family and Floor 3
Spoilers for Book 2
Bautista enters the dungeon as part of a large extended family. By the time Carl first meets him in depth, he is the only survivor — most of his family died on Floor 3. The Floor 3 class selection is where this becomes clear. His cheerfulness is not denial; it's a choice he has made in full view of what he's lost. That choice is the core of his character.
He begins organizing and leading other crawlers from this point forward.
